Double Sided Cornhole Bags

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

If you're just getting into cornhole, the word "pro cornhole bags" or "double sided bags" has probably reached your ear. The short and sweet about professional cornhole bags is you have two different sides. Each set of cornhole bags will have a "slick" side and a "slow" side.

A double sided cornhole bag will give you better playability on the boards. With traditional bags, the only game plan is putting bags in the hole. Dual sided bags bring an entirely new set of stratagem to the boards. Players will use the sticky or slower side of the bag to throw block shots to cut you off from the hole, roll shots to roll over bags in their lane, and cut shots to curve around bags to get to the hole.

The slick side of the bag is used to push through blockers, slip around bags in your lane, and give you a more hole friendly option when you need it. You'll find the slick side especially useful when your looking to sneak a bag in the hole without taking your opponents in with it.

Now you know why dual sided cornhole bags are such a big part of the competitive cornhole game. This also drives home the importance of being able to throw a flat bag. You can only take advantage of the bags sides if you can control which side of the bag lands on the board.

While you now have all the information you need on what a double sided cornhole bag is—you're not out of the woods yet. There are dozens if not hundreds of materials bags can be made out of. Some slow sides will hit the board and stop immediately—others will be slide but be more controllable. Some slick sides will be lightning fast on the boards, while others are more controllable but might not be as hole friendly.

What bag you throw will be dependent on your play style and how you throw the bag. A great place to start is local Utah cornhole bag manufacturer—Myjestix. They have a wide variety of bags with different materials and speeds to test out. Use code "Mountaintown" at checkout for 5% off everything on the site.
